Blueprints for Violence Prevention
Blueprints for Violence Prevention is a prevention initiative developed by the Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence in the Institute of Behavioral Science at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Blueprints identifies model prevention programs and provides technical assistance and training to users of the programs. Its site also provides links to other prevention sources, publications and research.

Compendium of HIV Prevention Interventions with Evidence of Effectiveness
This site, sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, provides information on programs that have proven effective in reducing behaviors that increase the risk of exposure to HIV.

OJJDP Strategic Planning Tool
The OJJDP Strategic Planning Tool was developed to assist in assessing a community's gang problem, and planning strategies to address it. The site's tools can be used not only for dealing with gang activity, but also for preventing a wide variety of adolescent problem behaviors. Tools include: a community resource inventory, a database of programs, strategies and activities, risk factors and a program matrix.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA's) National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP) site provides detailed descriptions of promising, effective and model programs. It also has a matrix for comparing major program characteristics.

Strengthening Families
The 1999 Strengthening Families Project searched for "best practices" available for programs to strengthen families. The site connects to identified programs, as well as links to a review of pertinent literature, other family-strengthening resources, OJJDP bulletins, and a program matrix.
